Delegates to the Conference on Canadian Stewardship have a unique chance to see the BC coastline from a wondrous vantage point. Merlin Plastics, a major sponsor of the conference, invites you to go on the Deep Cove Hike as their guest. Located on Vancouver's North Shore, which steps out into the Strait of Georgia, Deep Cove lies at the base of Mount Seymour Provincial Park.

It is a place that seems forever shrouded in clouds and mists, getting the highest rainfall totals in the region. There
sub-tropical plants bust into greenery and flowers abound. It is where two bodies of water meet, the Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm. It has more recreational opportunities within reach than most other communities, and it is so close to downtown Vancouver. It is a favorite destination when time is scarce. See the entire city of Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the islands below like never before.

This hike is rated as a moderate to easy walk, of about 2.25 km, with a elevation change of about 200 metres. Participants in the hike will be the guests of Merlin Plastics, with President Tony Moucachen along on the trek as your local guide to show you the spectacular scenery. The group will leave the Renaissance Harbourside Vancouver Hotel, at 1:30 PM sharp; returning by 4:30 PM, on Wednesday, September 12, 2007; well in time to join the conference reception at the hotel at 6:30 PM.

Delegates MUST sign up for the hike no later than Fri., August 31 by emailing your intention to participate to Mark McKenney at mckenney@xplornet.com or by calling Mark at (250) 486-2382. So get your comfy shoes on, bring some water and a good hat, and experience a great afternoon with nature.
