Robert Lemieux
Robert Lemieux is the President & CEO of Recyc-Québec. Recyc- Québec is a crown corporation that is tasked with the formulation and implementation of producer stewardship programs in that province. Programs that have been successfully initiated using a model where the businesses responsible manage their materials include, paints, tires, non-alcoholic beverage containers, and recyclable consumer packaging and printed materials.
 
Lynn Bailey
Lynn Bailey, Assistant Deputy Minister, Ministry of Environment, within the British Columbia government, Environmental Protection Division which includes responsibility for producer stewardship programs in that province. Under her jurisdiction are programs including management of tires, beverage packaging, used oil, household special
wastes, and used electronics.
 
Joachim Quoden
Joachim Quoden studied law at the “Rheinische Friedrich- Wilhelms-Universität” in Bonn before working within the German Federal Ministry of Environment. He was involved with the original German Packaging Ordinance. Between 1993 - 2006 Mr. Quoden worked for Der Grüne Punkt - Duales System Deutschland GmbH (DSD) in various capacities. He also became Secretary General of PRO EUROPE, the umbrella organization of packaging recovery organizations in 31 countries. Corporations Sharing Responsibility (CSR) from Ontario, Canada is a PRO-Europe member. In July 2006 he was appointed Managing Director for PRO-Europe.
 
Michael Brossard
Michael Brossard is Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Development for RONA Inc., Canada’s leading home improvement and hardware retailer. RONA has been actively involved in supporting stewardship programs through their founding involvement in the creation of Éco-peinture, Quebec’s paint and coatings stewardship program. He is a board member of Éco-peinture.
 
Christopher R. Reid
Christopher R. Reid, is a partner with the management consulting fi rm of KPMG. Chris’ group is responsible for studies that are examining best practices within the product stewardship arena. Recently, he has been lead manager for the Best Practices Study, a cooperative examination of recycling practices in Ontario, funded by Stewardship Ontario and supported by business and municipalities in that province.
 
Dave Thompson
Dave Thompson is an Edmonton based Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) LLP. Dave provides industry focused Performance Improvement, Risk Management and Regulatory and Sustainability services. Dave annually leads over 50 Environmental Handling Charge Compliance Reviews for used oil management associations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec. He has managed over 30 audits of forest management practices across Western Canada. He is currently providing Climate Change advisory services under Canada’s greenhouse gas regulatory framework.
 
Pat (P.K.) Horgan
Pat (P.K.) Horgan, is Vice-President of Manufacturing & Operations for IBM Canada Ltd. In this role he is responsible for the company’s product manufacturing with those responsibilities extending to the company’s product stewardship obligations in Canada. IBM Canada Ltd. is a leading original equipment manufacturer, and a leader in electronics
stewardship programs world-wide.
 
Dr. Fritz Flanderka
Dr. Fritz Flanderka, is Managing Director of Reclay Holdings, from Köln, Germany. Prior to this position he was Chief Agent of Der Grüne Punkt - Duales System Deutschland GmbH (DSD). DSD was one of the fi rst comprehensive consumer packaging stewardship programs in the world, and set the standard in the EU for such programs.
 
Jerry Powell
Jerry Powell, is Editor and Publisher; of two magazines and a newsletter (Resource Recycling, Plastics Recycling Update and E-Scrap News). He manages two annual conferences, The E-Scrap Conference, and The Plastics Recycling Conference. Previously Jerry managed a recycling consulting fi rm for a decade and a recycling business in Portland, Oregon. He is a past three-time chair of the board of the National Recycling Coalition and the three-time chair of the board of a state recycling association. He has spoken on waste management and recycling issues in 46 states and fi ve Canadian provinces.
