Ken Friesen is a Director of StewardEdge,a leading product stewardship consulting company that operates across Canada and internationally. With StewardEdge, he focuses on developing the technical underpinnings of stewardship programs and provides essential leadership for stakeholder collaboration and stewardship program development in several provinces.
In addition to other project work, Ken currently provides strategic and management services for Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba, as Executive Director of the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association and as project manager working with the Saskatchewan Ministry of the Environment and a multi-stakeholder Project Advisory Committee to develop that province’s Multi-Material Recycling Program.
Mr. Friesen’s corporate background includes more than 20 years experience in providing technical and strategic direction on waste reduction recycling and stewardship programs in central and western Canada. He has been directly involved in waste reduction and recycling since 1990, leading the initiation, design and implementation of multi-stakeholder stewardship programs and providing strategic governance and oversight for public and private sector clients.
Recognized for his ability to strategically work with diverse stakeholders to define and achieve common goals, Mr. Friesen is known as a team-builder and collaborator of diverse stakeholders with the ability to develop and implement effective stewardship programs. In all of these capacities he has worked with, advised, and facilitated cross-sectoral collaboration between industry representatives, municipalities, and the ENGO sector.
